School Day

Morning Arrangements

Gates are opened from 8:40am to 8:50am. School officially starts at 8:50am.

Please arrive within this time window to ensure your child is registered for the school day. Children will not be able to access the site before this time, unless attending our breakfast club.

Anyone arriving after 8:50am must use the gate button to alert the office and should ensure their child has been signed in at the office before going into their classroom.  If your child is going to be absent due to an appointment or another reason, please call the school office before 9am to ensure we have this recorded.

Reception Children can walk with an adult to their classroom doors. Over time we aim to promote independence with this.

Year 1-6 Children should be entering either gates independently.

Teachers are in school long before 8.40, but we don’t guarantee supervision before that time. When arriving, adults should leave children at the school gates.

Lunch Time

Key Stage 1 Children ( EYFS, Y1 and Y2) have their lunch hour from 12-1pm.

Key Stage 2 Children (Y3, Y4,Y5 and Y6) have their lunch hour from 12:15-1:15pm.

At lunchtime, children may have a school meal or bring sandwiches. Children make this selection during morning register and thie does not have to be a fixed arrangement.

Menu's and further information can be found in the 'Parent's Tab >School Lunches' on our website.

From September 2014 all Reception and Key Stage 1 children (Y1&2) will be provided with a Free School Meal.

No child is permitted to leave the school premises during school times unless collected by his/her parent or other adult nominated by his/her parent. We do not allow children to leave school alone. If your child has to leave school (for example for a dentist’s appointment) please arrange for him/her to be collected and contact the school office.

Breaktimes and Snacks

All children have a designated morning breaktime and a chance to have an afternoon snack. Children should bring healthy fruit snacks and children in Key Stage 1 will receive a piece of fruit daily in school. Children should also bring a bottle of water. We can refill these in school. Children use the playgrounds and outdoor spaces during breaktimes.

End of Day Arrangements

Gates are open from 3:05pm. Each class has a specific collection point - to find your collection point, use the school maps found in the 'Parent's' Tab on our site.

EYFS children (Conkers and Acorns) finish their day at 3:20pm.

Year 1 and Year 2 children ( Ash, Elm, Birch and Pine) finish their day at 3:20pm.

Year 3 onwards finish their day at 3:25pm.

Contact the school office if you have a different hometime arrangement e.g. have arranged another adult to collect your child.

You can also use Tapestry to communicate any changes around collection ( for children in EYFS and Y1) but please do this in a timely manner as staff may not be checking this as frequently.

If you are running late, please contact the school office.

Children will usually be taken to the school office if you are arriving late, so please come directly to reception on arrival.
