The curriculum aims of the school are to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to all pupils, acknowledging the individual needs of each. Underpinning the whole curriculum is our concern to promote the spiritual, moral and cultural development of each of our children.

We have created our new curriculum in line with the New National Curriculum (2014). This is based on a creative, enquiry-based approach led by the pupils, promoting independent learning skills and enthusiasm for learning. Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is a source of funding made available to schools by the Governement. This is targeted funding to be used to provide for disadvantaged pupils. At Swanwick Primary School, we believe that all children should be supported to reach their full potential and are committed to spending all our resources to achieving this aim. School Admissions Policy

If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 able to start school in September 2018. If you would like to apply for a place, please apply online (click here) between 13th November  2017 and  15th January  2018.

Pastoral Care

The school's ethos and values which underpin the children's spiritual, moral cultural and social development are based on these principles:

  • Developing self-respect
  • Respect for others
  • Gaining independance, while staying safe, in and out of school
  • Taking responsibility for words, thoughts and actions
Children with special educational needs are well provided for with experienced teachers and teaching assistants giving support and a dedicated learning support area.

Extra-Curricula Activities
There are numerous extra-curricula activities for the children at Swanwick Primary  School including sports such as netball and tag rugby. Other clubs include French, cookery, harmonies, STEM, Discovery club. Find out more on our clubs page.
Sports and keeping healthy
Swanwick Primary School is extremely proud of its healthy school's award, and is continually looking at ways of promoting the health of its pupils. This year, we are taking on the 'Swanwick Kilometre' challenge, which will be co-ordinated by children in school.
